Shop Amana Ranges
What kind of range do you have? Your Amana range is probably the most essential appliance in your home. Without it, you couldn't make your famous Thanksgiving turkey, or grandpa’s “secret” shrimp gumbo recipe that has a way of bringing the whole family together at the dinner table.
At Rent-A-Center, we never want you to miss out because your kitchen range is broken or just doesn't work as well as it once did. We’ll help you get a new Amana kitchen range that has the same features as your old one, but works better, or upgrade to a different range altogether.
The time is now to make sure you're getting the right range for all your meal-prepping needs. We’ll equip you with all the stuff you need to decide.
How do Kitchen Ranges Work
Can’t tell grates from induction burners? Touch pads vs knobs? We’re happy to point you in the right direction. Not all Amana ranges are made equally. Broadly, though, the following parts are the most common that you want to pay attention to when shopping for this major kitchen appliance.
- Burners: Most kitchen ranges, Amana ones included, have at least four burners on the stove. Burners are the “hotspots” where you can set your pans to heat up for frying and your pots for boiling and simmering! Burners come in many sizes, but most stovetops include a small, two medium, and one large burner, so you can use one that fits your cooking utensils and purposes best. Each burner can be set to low-to-high temperatures depending on what you’re doing — melting or boiling. In some Amana ranges, burners can even be combined for when you’re cooking with longer pans and griddles.
- Burner covers: Burner covers vary depending on the type of kitchen range you get. Most kitchen ranges today have smooth tops, with the burners sitting under a layer of heat-resistant tempered glass or ceramic. However, some kitchen range stove tops have other cool burner covers like dishwasher-safe griddles or restaurant-inspired coils.
- Grate: A grate sits on top of the range to evenly distribute heat to the pan. Gas ranges have grates. Electric smooth-top ranges have ceramic-glass cooking surfaces that don't look like your typical grate at all, but they work to distribute heat in much the same way.
- Controls: All ranges have controls, including Amana ranges. The controls might be knobs, buttons, or dials. They're usually located in two places: above the stovetop and between the stovetop and oven.
Getting a New Amana Range
When you’re in the market for a new kitchen range, whether you're buying, renting, or renting-to-own, there are a few more things you want to keep in mind. This is extra important if you’re buying a range online and can’t see the appliances in person.
For starters, know that a range is not the same thing as a cooktop. A kitchen stove is usually described as a range. It is one appliance that has both burners and an oven. It’s super useful if you like to bake sugar cookies and boil pasta all at once! Everyone loves cookies and spaghetti!
You’ll want to consider the color finish, name-brand, and how easy the inside and outside is to clean. Which range is best for your home? If you’re on the fence, drop us a line. The team at Rent-A-Center would love to help you.
